I can't believe my baby graduated from kindergarten!!! (sniff sniff)
It was an exciting day yet it was a sad day. Before we even left the house to go to the school Jake made me promise that I wouldn't cry. But I couldn't keep that promise as soon as we took him to his class and got him balloons I started to cry. I realized how much he has grown up and I don't have anymore kids that will be in kindergarten :(
Jake looked so handsome all dressed up in his church suit getting his graduation gown on. He was so cute!!! I did video some of it but I was laughing, crying, yelling, and clapping my hands so it is not the best video but it works for us. Every time Jake noticed that I was filming him or when Paul took a picture he got embarrassed his face went red and he would put his head down which made it even cuter.
They sang some really cute songs and had actions that went with them. (Loved it) Out of all the boys Jake was the only one who sang all the songs and did every action. Scott and Brandon would just sit there and Tim would only do half of them. The ones he liked.
They did the pledge of allegiance, this old man, I like being me (Paul's favorite) an alphabet song, (Jake had to hold up a bell with a picture on it for the letter Y) then my favorite song first grade, first grade. Then I was asked to put their little caps on the kids (eyes welling up with tears) they did a video with all the activities and had a picture of Jake in his cap and gown on the screen when Mrs Thomas called his name to go get his diploma. Cried again. Brandon wasn't very happy having mom cry in the school in front of friends. I am going to miss Mrs. Thomas she is an awesome teacher and has helped Jake grown so much in her class.
The next day was kindergarten assessments Jake was a little nervous but he did AWESOME!!!! He only missed 2 questions and that put in above 95% Jake is on level E for reading which is really great!!! He would have been on level F but he had trouble saying the word "making" it don't matter to me what level he is on I am just so very berry proud of him. I can't believe all the things they had to learn in kindergarten! I only remember eating a snack, then taking a nap and playing. I can't believe he will be graduating high school in 2022!! Don't want to think about that I told Jake to go and pick out a BIG rock, he did then he asked why? I told him so I can put it on his head so he won't grow anymore. I laughed he didn't think it was that funny because he wants to be bigger then Scott. Jake I am so proud of you and love you so very berry much!!! You are a good boy who is super smart please continue to keep up all the good work you have and are doing.
Love,
Mom
I tried to add pictures not sure why it didn't work, probably has something to do with me using my cell. Its late I will do it later.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I can totally picture Jake! He is a sweet boy. With him being the youngest, I bet you have lots of tear-filled events as they'll all be the last until grandkids. Weird, thinking about you having grandkids... you are too young! I'm sure it'll still be a while though.
