Went and registered Brandon and Tim for school...
I can't believe that Tim is going into the 6th grade his teacher is Mrs. Baucom (I hear that she is a really tuff teacher) I think it will be good for Tim. I know that he is excited to be back at Parkview, me I am still not sure
Brandon was signed up to go into 2nd grade his teacher Mrs. Busch (Scott had her) she is a really good teacher. But I am going to go to the school and have him get put back into 1st grade. I decided that I would rather have him at the Top of the class instead of in the middle. I will see how it goes. If he is really bored then I will pull him out of 1st and put in back in 2nd grade. I think that it will be easier this way, I don't want him to get to 2nd grade and have it too hard and put him back in 1st I think that would be unfair....
Who knows I will probably change my mind again...
Next week is Scott's registration for Jr high... I can't believe that (where does the time go) I am wondering which teachers he will have that I had when I was in Jr High. I know that his principal Mr. Swenson (he was my teacher in Jr & Sr High for FFA)
What I find is weird with LeeAnn when she was at the Middle School she had a principal in training at her school and I went to school with Mr. Judd, then when Jason was at the Jr High his English teacher Mr. Burton I grew up with him since elementary school and some of his HS teachers were mine. That makes me feel old...
But not as old as the teachers cuz they were old when I had them...

Picnic in the Park
Sunday we went to Lindon to have a picnic with the family and Drew's family to meet the perspective birth mom and dad with their parents.
It was really HOT!!! but the kids had fun, I don't know who had more fun the grandkids or grandpa. Dennis was so funny trying to make baskets with the kids and he got the ball in the bowl of ice water!
I really hope that this works out for Kris and Drew. They really deserve this.

Paul's 20th High School Reunion
Saturday was Paul's 20th High School Reunion from PG
We had so much fun on Saturday!!! Busy weekend...
In the afternoon they had a barbque for the family. That was fun they had blow up slides,(with a hose attached to it) bounce house, and a jousting thing where they tried to knock off people (looks like they were using a big q-tip.) We all had fun...
Paul was so funny he's like I know that person??? and look to me to see if I could help him out. I am like Paul I did not go to school with you, so you are on your own
Later that night we went to Noah's
The food was good if you stayed away from the meat... Bajio catered it.
I met some really nice people. I was surprised the people who was at our table were doctors, physical therapist, CPA, and computer guy (the cutest guy there)It seems like everyone Paul went to school with have done really well for themselves.
It was fun to have an 80's flashback!!!
I loved the pictures of everyone!!!!
I also loved the band that played can't remember who they were but they guys in the band went to school with Paul. They were really good..
Thanks Julie for watching the boys!!!!
I think that Paul really enjoyed himself, seeing old friends.

First Camping Trip of the year
We are finally home! Went camping up Payson Canyon right below Mt. Loafer Trail. It was a blast! I wish that everyone in the family was up there with us.
The first night was OK, but when we woke up the floor was soaking wet! The water line to the toilet must have froze during the winter so all the water drained out all over the floor. When you turned on the pump it really made everything WET!!! Luckily we weren't that far from town and were able to bring up water to wash hands, bathroom and dishes...
Paul made a zip line for the boys and a swing. He made another swing so everyone wouldn't fight over it. We went fishing, swimming at Payson Lake Scott and Tim even jumped off of the dock! Our friends the Baker's came up. They brought their tubes, raft and kayak. Brandon did not want to get out of the raft he had so much fun. Surprised me because the last time he was in one he was really scared....
I was really glad that Brandon, Deseret, Chelsie, Jordan and Sam could come up...
Enjoyed spending time with friends, can't wait to do it again.
Paul drove down to work, (wish he was able to take the whole time off) while he was gone me and the boys played badminton, read, shot Paul's crossbow (can't believe how good of a shot the boys were especially Scott) and went on a walk. The boys had so much fun trying to catch squirrels, chipmunks and potguts! The first couple of days were so bad with mosquitoes we went through 3 things of bug spray, we even brought up our Tiki torches. Finally Paul had a really great idea he brought up our bug spray and sprayed around our campsite. I really wished he would have thought of that earlier.
It was so perfect where we were at shade all around us!!! We couldn't believe how HOT it was down in town... It was at least 20-30 degrees cooler at camp then in town!
Scott and Tim had fun sleeping in the tent by themselves. Me I was paranoid at first, but I knew that they were OK, I just not used to the idea that they are growing up.
We saw so many deer! Which got us all excited for the deer hunt!!! Can't wait!
I really think that half of Payson was camping the 24th weekend. There was soo many people on the weekend!!! I really thought that Payson Canyon was a big enough place to go, boy was I wrong... I have never seen so many people jammed into one spot on the weekend. Lucky that we got there early! We had to deal with drunks and the loud music that night, they made everyone mad, but it was also funny. Entertainment that night is when they tried to go down the zip line and landed on their butt REALLY HARD (HA HA HA) Paul made the zip line for kids not adults (even though he did go down it) Just one of those things that you had to be there.
I will post pictures later...

Scott's Birthday
I can't believe that Scott is 12 already! It just seems like yesterday when I found out that I was pregnant with him and in the delivery room, how fast time flies by. He can't make up his mind on what he wants for his birthday. He wants another air soft gun or BB gun. We have been to Sportsman's Warehouse, Walmart, and Kmart plus yard sales and pawn shops, but he has not found the right gun yet. Hopefully it will be soon. He wants to be able to improve his shooting abilities he is already a natural! Paul took the boys shooting out in West Mountain, we have a target that you can shoot and when you hit the target it spins. It is alot of fun!!! This year he will be going to the JR high with all of his friends from Parkview and some new friends from the Charter.
Tonight he is going over to his friend Gage's house to play night games with the gang from Parkview, I know that he will have fun. Then tomorrow him and his friends are going to go swimming.

Tim will be getting his Arrow of Light at the end of this month. I am so proud of him and can't wait!!! He has been working really hard to earn this award. When we know more of the details I will post them to let everyone know.
Today Tim is at Scout Camp, Camp Jeremiah Johnson... I know that he will have fun!!!
Tim and the neighbor boys have been working on an old bike of Paul's they are sanding it and going to paint it. They are having soo much fun!!!

Geocaching
We went geocaching on Sunday it was so much fun... I realized that I do not have a sense of direction, even following a compass. It was really good family fun! We all had to work together to find the treasure. Can't wait to go again!! If Paul only works a half a day today then we are going to go. But with the city you never know what is going to happen.
Cancer Research Center
I have been busy with the Cancer Research Center over at UVRMC. I am the Cancer Resource Center Chair, not really sure what that means. Right now we are training volunteers to staff. Hopefully we will be able to open Aug. 1 but we need more volunteers! The center is open Mon - Fri from 8 - 5pm. What we will be doing is to provide resources for people who have just been diagnosed with cancer or who have it and also to the family and caretakers of the cancer patient. Basically letting people know that they are not alone out there that there are people and support groups out there to help them during this time, also educating everyone, but mainly to be there for them especially after their first chemo treatment.

Relay for Life

Tomorrow is the Relay for Life. I am so excited... We are going to be decorating our tent this year as a MASH. I wish I had more time instead of last minute notice on decorating it but oh well. I am going to spray paint the tent to look camo, hopefully make a still??? Have a sign post saying Paris, Tokyo and Cure for Cancer 1 billion miles away something like that. A red medical cross, I was also thinking about getting rocks and painting them white and putting around the campsite. Have a dummy dressed in medical clothes??? Just some ideas that I am thinking about now, since I am unable to sleep. I guess we will have to see what I actually get done. I am excited and scared that this is my brother's 3rd Relay since he has been diagnosed with Brain cancer. I wish there was something that I could do for him and that he wasn't having to deal with this. It just makes me so sad to think with how advanced we are and that we still don't have a cure for this horrible disease.
Well I survived another Relay... We had so much fun even though it was raining, lighting, and thundering on us. I was so happy that my sister Michelle and her kids came down, and to spend the afternoon with my nephew Nathan was just a blast. I got some good pictures I will have to post...
What was really sad is how many kids were in the survivors group... That just broke my heart to see all these little kids who are fighting for their life. I learned that a good friend of mine her daughter was just diagnosed with Leukemia. She is only 8 yrs old.
But I was really glad to be spending the night walking for a good cause. I also loved spending time with LeeAnn and just being able to talk with her. I feel like it brought us closer together. I am looking forward to next year...
One other thing my friend Jarom Thurston ran from 6pm to 6am the whole relay, he ended up running 55 miles and he raised over $500 for that run. That is so awesome Jarom!!!

Mark Mattinson
Today I learned that my cousin past away last night. He was in an ATV accident down in Mt.Pleasant. He was drunk or have been drinking while he was riding his 4 wheeler.
I am sure that if he had not been drinking he would still be here today. What makes it really sad is that this is the third child that my aunt and uncle have lost in the past 4 yrs. Their only daughter Jackie passed away in November of 2004, her and her husband were driving down to Phoenix when they got in a horrible car wreck and they both lost their lives. Just out side of Wikie Up, Arizona. In January of 08 their son Max passed away he had a seizure, and now Mark. You would think losing your children it would make you closer to your other children but instead it has drove the family apart. When their dad did not attend their funeral. I don't know how you could not go to your own child's funeral. I pray for them that they are able to find peace within themselves. To lose your life at such a young age in your early forties.
Mark I hope that you are out of pain and is reunited with grandma and grandpa and your uncles, and your son Nick.

Paul back to work
Today is the first day that Paul has been back to work in almost 2 weeks. I am glad that he is back to work, but then I miss him too. I got used to him being here all day. When he came home from lunch his foot was bothering him. I guess we will know how he did after work. I think he is not staying off of his foot while he is at work.
He drove his truck to work but had to come home for a computer and his clutch went out. He was only able to keep it in first gear. I don't know what we are going to do now. He needs a new clutch and transmission. Oh where is that darn money tree to pick from!!!

Flying Raccoons

Today we went down to Goshen to pick up our boat. What an ordeal, first of all it wasn't even ready for us. We had to move a horse trailer with 2 flat tires and dig it out and raise it so we can get it hitched to Paul's truck. Then we had to cut the pad lock on the boat so we can hook it to the hitch. And of course there was 2 flat tires on the boat. Drive to Santaquin to get a can of fix a flat then back to Goshen, find a gas station (which there is only one) put air in the tires and I was to follow Paul home. He was driving the tarp was blowing like crazy cuz it came unhooked in the back, as we were getting near Warm Springs all of the sudden a mommy raccoon came flying up at least 5 to 10 feet in the air above the boat and at us. I ended up running over the raccoon I think I got the tail or maybe leg. The raccoon got up and walked to the side of the road. So scary having a raccoon fly at you.We got home and told the boys to stay away from the boat so we can check it out and make sure that there is no babies in it. Well of course there was a baby raccoon in the boat. So tiny and cute... Called our friend who is an officer with Payson Police and he was not working so he told us to call dispatch. Well dispatch said that they would not help us because it is a wild animal... So what the heck are we going to do with it... Went down to Payson Police Dept. and there was 3 officers there and they said that they don't deal with raccoons we would have to call someone and pay them to take care of it. I was really upset with them over this. When I worked in Mapleton I always sent officers to take care of raccoons. Anyways I called Larry Carter and he made some phone calls and sent over Trent Gordon who has a trap. He finally showed up around 9:30 and brought a can of tuna fish to lure the raccoon into the live trap. Well the raccoon just didn't care for it. As Trent was climbing into the boat there was another raccoon, then another one. We ended up with 4 baby raccoons. They are so cute and tiny. Maybe 4 to 6 weeks old. I went next door to Jamie's house and she said that her friend would take it. (back when we thought there were 2) We didn't know what to do with the babies until tomorrow when Kami could come and get them. So Trent said that he had a couple of bottles and would take them home and feed the baby raccoons. And hopefully his wife will let him keep them. If not after church he will bring them back to us and we will get ahold of Kami so she can come and get them...The boat is torn up, all the seats are ripped and shredded from the raccoon. We will need to reupholster all the seats and put new foam in them...Talking to Cynthia she is now telling me that there is something wrong with the motor.... UGH I wish I knew this earlier, I doubt that I would have gotten the boat then. Oh well, hopefully were Paul is really good at fixing things he can fix it with no problems...
Star Trek
Took the boys to see the new Star Trek movie. It was AWESOME!!!
I was surprised that Jake even sat through the movie, he started to get tired the last 15 min. but other than that he was really good, they all were. Maybe this means that we can take them places without them driving us nuts.... Guess we will have to wait and see.

Teenagers???
Woke up this morning to a message from my neighbor saying someone threw a brick threw her car window. Went outside to check on our cars and they were ok. Luckily! But our other neighbors truck got a brick threw the back window of their truck and someone a block away got one threw their car window. I can't believe someone would do this... What are kids coming to these days....
Paul and his foot
Last Tuesday Paul fractured his foot and has been off of work ever since and is driving me nuts. Because now that he is off work he is not able to do what he wanted to do around the house and in the yard. Tomorrow we go to the Dr to get it looked at again. Hopefully everything will be ok.
